Guest access and notification issues.
Hi Gizumo.

My friend installed the ChipChop web app and accessed it as a guest, but he was having trouble with notifications. I'd like to know how to resolve this.

First of all, I'm an Android user, and my friend uses an iPhone.

My friend accessed the ChipChop web app as a guest and was able to successfully display the thermometer and hygrometer graphs and values.

Next, to test notifications, he created a simple experimental button consisting only of an action and a component, and used that.

However, when I sent a notification using the experimental button, the notification arrived on my phone, but not on my friend's.

When I asked my friend to send a notification using the same button, neither my phone nor my friend received the notification.

On my friend's phone, he used the button to allow notifications, but the gray bell icon did not appear to be displayed, so it's possible that notifications were not properly allowed.

To make it easier to check whether notifications are allowed on my friend's phone, it might be helpful to resolve the issue if you could switch the allow notifications button to the previous version.

Hi Haruto,

My primary phone is Android but I also use an iPhone for testing and I have experienced that sometimes when you first launch the app and click on the notification button in the app the permission request to the phone OS doesn't get triggered.

It's not a consistent problem and here are some options that usually work :

1. on iOS completely "kill" the app (swipe it away) and launch it again and try enabling the notifications.

2. if that doesn't work delete the app shortcut completely from the phone's home screen and then add it again - make sure to visit the link as "https" and add to home screen again.

3. If that doesn't work, on iOS specifically it can also help to go into Settings >> Apps >> Safari and clear Safari cache/history and then try step 1 or 2

The correct behaviour is when you click on the enable notifications button after 2-3 seconds you should receive a test notification that will confirm that the permission is correctly accepted by iOS and also the button should stay in the "on" highlighted position.

Please let me know if one of the options works or I have to look for a different solution to try

Thank you Gizmo, the problem is solved.
My friend seems to have figured out how to do it too, so this will make a lot of progress on the project.

I'll let you know if I encounter any further problems, so I appreciate your continued support.
